The smell of pumpkin pie, apple cider, and a cool breeze sweeping across falling leaves… Yep it’s definitely fall! Autumn is such a beautiful season; when kids go back to school, cinnamon becomes the most popular spice, and it’s the perfect temperature to be outside with just a cozy sweater on. The DRIVE wants you to get the most out of this season, so we have compiled a list of fun fall activities for family, friends, partners, and everyone in between! Please enjoy this season and try to take part in everything that Windsor/Essex County has to offer.

Thiessen Apple Orchards

This family favourite apple orchard has been sharing fall joy since 1934. Thiessen’s is a staple in the community every September and October and brings a host of events to enjoy all apple season long. Some of their most popular activities include a haunted barn, corn maze, and of course apple picking!

Besides this fun, they have plenty of tasty treats in their Kountry Kitchen. So come one, come all because Thiessen’s has something for everyone! Follow Thiessen’s on Instagram and Facebook to get into the fall spirit.

Willistead Harvest Dinner

Willistead Manor opens its doors once more for a lavish feast built for a royal court! The dinner will include a full spread of three different cuts of meat, seasonal sides, whisky tastings, entertainment, and the beautiful setting of Willistead Manor.

Allsop Farm Pumpkins & More

There is nothing quite as fall-like as going to a pumpkin patch! Allsop’s Farm has your pick of a variety of pumpkins and gourds as well as anything else you might need to decorate your porch this fall. You can also experience their a-maze-ing corn maze.

One of the highlights at this venue will be their fall festival which will feature multiple vendors on Saturday, October 26th from 10:00 am-4:00 pm. Checkout their Instagram to get a peek at their vendors list!

Scarehouse Windsor

Windor’s largest haunted house attraction is now open. This is more than your average haunted house as it offers an immersive dinner experience, spooky events, and multiple themed rooms! Scarehouse also has a special feature that allows you to take a guided tour of the building in search of real paranormal activity.

Fall Beer & Cider Festival

Cider is a huge part of the autumn season…however this cider is just for the grown ups! The festival will allow the many cideries and breweries in the area to showcase their crafts to the people of Windsor and Essex County!

WindsorEats is hosting this event, and they will be providing more information closer to the date which will be Saturday, October 5th. Stay up to date with this event here!

EPIC Harvest Festival

You may love to drink wine and enjoy doing so, but have you taken the time to truly appreciate the art of making it? If your answer is no, then maybe you should check out the Harvest Festival, brought to you by Scotiabank! This festival is created to teach you about the process of wine creation and show you tutorials on procedures such as grape stomping and barrel rolling.
