Riverside Drive West, facing east, at the point where this historic roadway divides into University Avenue—the Ambassador Bridge is in the background. The top photo was taken in 1960, where the Supertest gas station stood at the time. That same building remains in business 60 years later—now Nick’s Auto Clinic. The bronze statue of Major–General Sir Isaac Brock and Shawnee Chief Tecumseh is by local artist Mark Williams and commemorates their alliance during the War of 1812. It has been erected on a plinth in the centre of a new roundabout and was unveiled in 2018.

From Windsor Before and After: a new book from Walkerville Publishing Inc. Release date: Fall 2019. WPI is owned by Chris Edwards and Elaine Weeks.
