Alesha and Sydney Buston are bringing the community together to support their parents, Julie and Marc Buston, following a life-changing year for their family.
In October 2025, Julie sustained a traumatic brain injury that continues to significantly impact her everyday life. She has been unable to return to work and requires support with many daily tasks while managing ongoing symptoms. Her husband, Marc, owner and operator of JAMS Appliance Repair, has continued working while taking on much of Julie’s care and responsibilities at home.
As the family approaches the one-year anniversary of Julie’s injury, Alesha and Sydney have launched a fundraiser to help ease some of the financial and day-to-day pressures their parents are facing. Funds raised will go directly to Julie and Marc, helping with needs such as household assistance, respite care, symptom-management items, everyday expenses and debt relief.
Alongside their GoFundMe, the sisters have created a few ways for the community to get involved. Alesha has designed custom fundraiser T-shirts, available for preorder for $35, with profits from each sale going directly to Julie and Marc. The family will also be hosting a pottery-making fundraiser at HV & Co. on Sunday, September 6, with proceeds supporting the fundraiser.
Whether through a donation, T-shirt purchase, attending the pottery event or simply sharing their story, each show of support will help Alesha and Sydney give their parents some added relief while Julie continues to navigate life following her injury.
